Bijon began his healthcare career at 19 as a practice administrator for Gwinnett Family Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, gaining early experience in managing medical practices. The son of a doctor, Bijon grew up immersed in the medical field, fueling his passion for healthcare innovation. He later joined Medical Bureau, Inc., a medical billing service, rising to Vice President. Building on his expertise, Bijon and his brother Kam Memar founded Medac in 1992 in Augusta, Georgia, to address the growing need for business solutions for hospital-based specialties. Medac became one of the nation’s largest independently owned anesthesia revenue cycle management companies, recognized for integrity, trust, and personalized service optimizing client reimbursement.
After leading Medac for decades, Bijon sold the company in 2019 and stayed on for two years to ensure a smooth transition. Recognizing a lack of accountability in the healthcare industry, he joined Integrex Health as Chairman of the Board, drawn to its innovative technology solutions improving transparency, accountability, profitability, and inefficiencies in revenue cycles. As Chairman, Bijon provides strategic leadership while cultivating a culture of excellence. His success mantra is simple: hire employees who are passionate, committed, and honest.
Bijon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia College and State University. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife Diana, their two children, Michael and Madeleine, and their four dogs.
Before co-founding Integrex Health in 2019, Ken held leadership positions at Goldman Sachs, Dell Computer and Deloitte Consulting, which enabled him to bring applicable industry experience to revenue cycle management from both a strategic and innovative standpoint.
Ken knew that in order to create and develop products that reduce cost and drive client revenue, he needed to get to know the payers. So, he spent years forming close relationships with them. Those relationships, coupled with his knack for ‘connecting the dots,’ allowed Ken and his team to develop unique products that are utilized by some of the largest healthcare organizations today.
In addition, Ken proudly serves as an advisor to First Fruit Ministries, Wilmington’s largest and oldest nonprofit dedicated to helping human trafficking and homeless victims. Under his guidance, Integrex Health has spearheaded the creation of an innovative technology solution aimed at combating these important issues within North Carolina.
Ken received his MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU. He has also been an advisor to Stern’s Entrepreneurial Challenge for 20 years, which assists medical and business students that are looking to bring technology ideas to market. Ken lives in Cary, NC and enjoys spending time watching his teenage daughter, Caroline, perform ballet at Cary Ballet Conservatory and visiting his son Ryan (Economics major) at The University of Maryland.
